Currently, we are on the second leg of our trip and this place was my choice – the Palouse. Earlier in the week we visited the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. Then, we headed about a six hour drive south to this area that borders the U.S. States of Washington and Idaho.

I first learned about the Palouse from Andre Gallant who brings people here on photography workshops. The rolling hills and farmland resemble areas in France. His images of this area are truly amazing (click on his Galleries and look for Palouse Harvest and Palouse Panoramas).

The image at the top of this post was taken as we arrived at our B&B out in the country. Driving in was an incredible experience. I have never seen a landscape quite like this. With my 50mm lens, I am going to focus a little closer in – on the abstractions in the farmland. Here are a few other images from the drive in.

Eastern Washington State is also wine country and we will be visiting the popular Walla Walla Valley wine area for one day. It just happens to be spring release weekend so the place will be hopping.

See you back home next week.
