Over the past few weeks, I’ve been drawn to the many types of grasses found in my town. They are full and voluptuous and in constant movement.
So, I’ve been playing with capturing their beautiful, chaotic nature with my camera, both by freezing the motion and exaggerating it. For some of the images in the short video below I used long shutter speeds and panned (moved) my camera horizontally, vertically, or in circular motions.
Our intention is to affirm this life, not to bring order out of chaos, nor to suggest improvements in creation, but simply to wake up to the very life we’re living, which is so excellent once one gets one’s mind and desires out of its way and lets it act of its own accord. ~ John Cage, Where the Heart Beats via Brain Pickings
Which words come to mind (or emotions felt) when you experience these grasses?

Beautiful grass shots, especially when you moved your camera. I just love the colour green which I like to take my fill of during these last weeks of late summer before autumn sets it – with its own particular kind of beauty. The colour green and slow moving grasses in a summer breeze make me feel peaceful.
Calm, peace, and the ability to dance to your own rhythm. Enjoyed the video!
What gorgeous abstracts come from grass and motion combined. A beautiful collection.
Beautiful video! The lush greens and feel of movement in the grasses brought me such a sense of calm. Now, I’m going to turn of this computer and just breath!
Just wonderful Kim. Adore the abstract images at the end.
