“I like The Eiffel Tower because it looks like steel and lace.”
― Natalie Lloyd via Goodreads
I recently visited France for the very first time – a short stint in Paris (and Freiburg, Germany), and the rest of the time in the Alsace region. Paris felt like an old friend, so entrenched were the images I’d seen throughout my life. Being there in person was priceless. While it was not a photography trip (I had to keep up with five others), I still managed to take many photographs. My favourites were, of course, abstract. I find that focusing on the details makes a trip even more memorable.
I hope you enjoyed these France abstracts. If you’re interested, check out my online course, Going Abstract.
So pleased you enjoyed Paris and your other travels, Kim! I love your abstract take on the Eiffel Tower which I prefer to the whole metallic structure! That shot and the stained glass windows are my favourite! I also love the flouncy red skirt and reflections in that last image!
Please let me know if you can see my comments now! The spacing works better now when I type, but I can hardly see the words as they are so pail before I hit the ‘submit’ button!
Yes, I can see your comment Sandra. Thank you. I’ll work on the pale type!
Yes, thank you for looking into the PALE writing! I can’t even see my typos at the moment!!
Oh, this takes me back… I particularly like Paris Bark. Gorgeous colours. It could be a map.
I love the photos!!!
Sorry I cannot post more here, it is too faint for me to read as I type.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
These are gorgeous. I’ve never seen an image of the Eiffel tower that I liked better or that showed the beauty of the structure so well. The pattern of Stained Glass, the texture and colors of Paris Bark are both wonderful. I loved the heart in the bark, too.
I love that you came home with such different images of iconic Paris – images that show us a different face of this famous city. The tiny details that take attention and care to “see”. I agree with Lee – your image of the Eiffel Tower is quite magnificent.
Kim, your first impression of Paris is so refreshing and beautiful. For me, your posts are always an invitation to appreciate beauty and to experience everything anew.
Hi Kim (and everyone). I just gifted myself time in the France album you linked to above – I truly love how you see and admire your ability to share the wonder and the beauty of what captured your attention in a way that allowed me to feel the photograph as though I was there in the moment. Beautiful and inspiring. I’m wondering if the 5 you had to keep up with also ‘saw’ France as you did, or if they at least saw all that they were looking for?
