Since as far back as I can remember, I have had a very active inner life. At the same time I was painfully shy and did not reveal this inner life to very many people. I learned to interpret others’ interest and only when I trusted that they were sincere about getting to know the real me would I reveal much.
The good thing is that I now have a few deeply satisfying, lifelong friendships. However, much of my inner life still remained hidden to the rest of the world. The Internet has helped change that scenario. While I am still a reserved person in real life and online, the Internet allows me to share what I am passionate about and to contribute where I think I can make a difference. It is a platform for finding people who share your interests.
I believe that we all have something unique to offer. I believe that we all enter the world called to contribute in some special way. So does Tara Sophia Mohr, creator of the Playing Big Program in Leadership Development for Women. I participated in this online, intensive, six month program in 2011 and it helped give me the confidence and tools to really put myself out there and contribute in my own way.
Playing Big is still going and if my story resonates with you, I urge you to check it out. I am not an affiliate of Playing Big. I don’t make any money from telling you this. I believe in the power of this program and wanted to share my experience. Here are some of the posts I’ve written about Playing Big.
